Person centred, wraparound doula support

Birth doula in Bristol, Bath and surrounding areas

Warm, no-nonsense birth preparation and birth support that centres you and your journey, so that you enter parenthood feeling confident and capable.

You’re feeling excited, nervous and cautiously hopeful about your birth, but the birth stories you’ve heard make it sound like birth is something to simply survive. Deep down, you’re hoping for something more – but you’re not sure whether that’s realistic…

So you’re not going to leave it chance. You’re going to do everything you can to stack the odds in your favour of getting that birth that you secretly dream of, the one that you know you and your baby deserve.

Because for you, this is about more than just the birth day

It’s about feeling informed, heard and fully supported through your pregnancy.

It’s about looking back, knowing you had the birth you and your baby needed and deserved.

It’s about the ripple effect this has in your early parenting; it sets you and your baby up for success.

What are you hoping for?

You want to have a birth that makes you feel proud. Proud of your body and proud of yourself.

You can see yourself in one of those glorious photos of jubilation after the birth, where the power and joy is radiating from your whole being.

You feel deep down, there’s something sacred unfolding, and you want to protect it.

You’re a pretty practical person and you want to be well prepared for this birth. You’ve researched local antenatal courses already, you’ve got a bunch of birthy books on your bedside table… But you don’t actually know if they’re what you really need. Everything feels a bit unknown, and you don’t like that sense of feeling, well, out of control.

You’ve left your midwife appointments feeling a bit underwhelmed – they’ve really just been a data collection session. Everyone wants to know your due date, but no one seems to be asking how you are. You want the deeper conversations about you: your incredible body, how you’ll manage birth, and what the heck comes next.

Most of all, you want to come away from your birth, however it unfolds, knowing you did everything in your power to set yourself and your baby up for success and ready to thrive.

Working with me

I bring years of experience supporting pregnancy, birth and early parenthood to your birth team – I’ve been working as a doula in Bristol since 2022 and have walked alongside 100s of women since I launched my pregnancy yoga classes in 2020.

I know what you’re likely to come up against in your journey: the physical symptoms, the emotional rollercoaster, the maternity system and the curveballs it can throw at you. I notice what might be useful, flag things you might not have thought of and think about how I can best support you. You won’t always have to know what you need from me: that’s part of my job!

I’m a total birth (and breastfeeding!) nerd – but in my eyes, the expert here is always you. It’s your body, your baby, your birth – I’ll always remind you that you have the power here. You make the decisions.

As an ex-primary school teacher and Virgo, I am however an expert in making overwhelming information and big decisions more straightforward. I’m a pro at decluttering – I’ll help you see through your preconceptions and your fears and connect in with what matters to you.

For me, this is not a job – it’s a mission. A mission for women to reclaim ownership of their bodies. We’ve been taught to disconnect from our bodies, override their messages and doubt our own wisdom. Pregnancy and birth offer a powerful opportunity to change that: you can reconnect with yourself, to remember you already have what you need. And it doesn’t end with your birth – it will shape how you parent and what you pass on to the next generation.

Birth doula in Bristol and Bath

What do you get?

When you work with me as your doula, you’ll experience true continuity of care. I’ll always be there, on the phone or over Whatsapp to reach out to if you need anything. There’ll be no need for 1am Googling and no more feeling alone – you have a trusted and experienced person walking alongside you. Your own ‘Wise Woman’!

We’ll spend quality time together in your pregnancy, to build that trusting relationship and to go deep with the birth prep you actually need. As you explore what you really want and what’s holding you back, you’ll be able to move those books from your bedside table back the bookshelf, and start to listen in to your own voice, to feel in your gut what’s right for you.

When you hit a bump in the road in those vulnerable final weeks of pregnancy (most people will encounter something unexpected in the NHS) I’m there to stay calm, to keep you connected with that inner voice and to remind you that you’re the expert in this pregnancy and in your own body.

You don’t want a stranger in your birth space; from around 38 weeks I’ll be officially on call for your birth. I’m ready to come to you, 24 hours a day, and in the meantime, I’m holding you through that beautiful, frustrating, nerve-wracking wait for the birthing day to arrive.

When that day does arrive, I’ll join you in your chosen birth space – home, midwife led unit or hospital. I’ll know how to best support you and your partner from all the work we’ve done together in pregnancy. I’ll be reassuring you (and your partner!) that you’ve got this, encouraging you on when it gets tough and reminding you why you’re doing this! My trust in you will enable you to surrender to your birth as it unfolds.

After the birth, I’ll slink off when you’re settled with your baby, but that continuity of care continues – I’m still there on the phone to reach out to. You’ll benefit from on-hand breastfeeding support – I’m a trained and experienced breastfeeding peer supporter – and my post natal recovery knowledge.

With all our work together, you’ll reconnect with the innate wisdom of your body again. I believe our bodies have a deep wisdom when it comes to birth and my role is to help you listen in, understand what your body is telling you and build that trust in yourself.

You’ll also benefit from my practical, hands-on birth support skills. I’ve trained in aromatherapy for childbirth, biomechanics, hypnobirthing, pregnancy and postnatal yoga, breastfeeding peer support, trauma-aware care, and birth debriefing.

Preparing for birth and new parenthood together, birth support and support for the early days of parenthood.

This package is for parents who want to feel fully prepared for birth, with deep preparation, and enter birth and parenthood with confidence.

  • Initial connection call: You need to feel comfortable with me if I’m going to be at the birth of your baby! We’ll always have an initial connection meeting, in person or on Zoom, so you can see if I’m the right doula for you.
  • Continuity of carer: My phone and messaging support is available from the point of booking and until 6 weeks post natal. You don’t need to wait until our in-person sessions, call on me when you need.
  • 4 in person antenatal sessions: each around 2 hours long. These are always led by you and what you need to feel birth ready.
